Every learner has different strengths, challenges and goals. At Bright Star Learning, lessons are built around the individual to identify gaps, explain concepts clearly and give students the confidence to keep progressing.
Whether you're preparing for SATs or GCSEs, strengthening core English and Maths skills, improving your English through ESOL, or returning to learning as an adult, tuition is tailored to where you are and where you want to go.
Hi, I'm the founder and tutor behind Bright Star Learning, with over three years of tutoring experience supporting learners across primary, secondary and adult education.
I hold a BA (Hons) in English from City St George's, University of London, and have experience teaching English, Maths, SATs and GCSE and Functional Skills preparation, as well as ESOL and supporting learners with additional learning needs.
From early literacy and numeracy through to GCSEs and adult ESOL.
Reading, writing and maths foundations, with SATs preparation for Year 6.
Learn more →English Language and Literature through to GCSE: analysis, essay technique, exam practice.
Learn more →Full GCSE curriculum, paced to where each student actually is, not where the syllabus assumes.
Learn more →Practical English and Maths for learners working towards a recognised qualification.
Learn more →English for speakers of other languages, with an everyday, academic or workplace focus.
Learn more →Lessons adapted for students with dyslexia and other additional needs. This is an area I actively specialise in, not a tick-box add-on.
Learn more →Every lesson is planned around your child's individual strengths and learning gaps.
Your child gets my full attention. No group classes and no competing for attention.
Lessons follow the relevant curriculum and exam-board requirements.
You'll know what your child has worked on, what they're improving and what to practise next.
We don't just aim for better grades. We help students become more confident, independent learners.
Independent education research backs the approach: the Education Endowment Foundation's evidence review found that one-to-one tuition can deliver around five additional months of academic progress on average.
Targeted support to close learning gaps.
Build confidence alongside academic skills.
SATs, GCSEs and other assessments.
Challenge and extension for students who want to move ahead.
ESOL support for everyday, academic or workplace English.
"I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again."
"My lessons combine structured teaching, guided practice and independent work, so students don't simply learn how to answer one question; they learn how to approach the next one themselves."
